The Zap gun is an item in Lethal Company. It is an expensive defensive weapon that shoots a constant stream of electricity which immobilizes hostiles and allies alike. The Zap gun can come in handy when dealing with certain enemies. It is not advised to bring the Zap gun to easier moons as its use is limited. It is highly recommended that you go along with a teammate with a Shovel to dispatch any enemy you encounter.
How to Operate[]
- [LMB] - Begin scanning for target
- [Look left / Look right] - Wrangle beam
Holding [LMB] with the Zap gun equipped will begin scanning the area in front of you for hostiles or allies. If the Zap gun detects one of either, a constant beam of electricity will shoot from the gun to the target, preventing movement and attacks for the duration that Zap gun electrocuting its target.
To prolong the stun duration, an employee must pull against the electricity current (Can be done by looking left or right). If not done correctly, the stun will end early.
Once the electricity beam disconnects, the Zap gun will enter a 5-second cool down state before it can be used again, indicated by smoke coming out of it.
Effects[]
Like the Stun grenade, the effectiveness of the Zap guns stun depends on the entity being targeted, but will generally immobilize most entities and render them unable to attack. Effective = Completely immobilizes the entity. Somewhat effective = Prevents the entity from attacking, but is still able to move slowly. Ineffective = Entity that cannot be stunned by the Zap gun.

Notes[]
- The Zap gun lasts for a total of approximately 60 seconds if fully used.
- The Zap gun cannot kill anything on its own, so it's advised to be accompanied by fellow employees that are equipped with shovels.
- [Bug] If an employee is zapped for the least amount possible, their speed while being zapped will increase with every zap. After a couple of zaps, when the zap gun is allowed to zap the employee, normally their speed can be really high sending them through walls and out of the map. This has strategical use if done correctly. It can be used to slow enemies down a lot for an infinite amount of time (more testing needed, only seen on thumpers).
- Zapping a Jester will immediately activate its winding state after the zap stops.
