The Autopilot Ship[1] is where every crew begins a new contract in Lethal Company. It's a crew's only method of transportation between moons and also serves as their base of operations. The ship consists of a small room that employees can use to store scrap and equipment.
At one end is the Terminal, an array of monitors, and a few furnishings. At the other end is a pressure door to outside the ship. Around the ship's outside is a railing with two access ladders to the ground and also a ladder to the roof.
Crews can add ship upgrades and extra decor as they make progress through their contract.
Autopilot[]
When a player confirms a moon destination in the terminal, pulling the lever in front of the main monitor will allow Autopilot to land on that moon. The ship lands at 8:00 am and departs at 12:00 am. The automatic depart can be overridden early by:
- Disengaging the brake lever – The ship will take off regardless of whether all crew mates are on board. Crew mates who are not on the ship are deemed missing, which is functionally the same as being dead.
- Voting to leave – Deceased crew mates can vote to have the ship leave with [RMB]. With a unanimous vote, an autopilot warning announces to all living crew mates the time of day the ship will depart. It will say the ship's early exit is due to "hazardous conditions."
- Total crew death – All members of the crew die, and the ship automatically departs. The crew's equipment, ship upgrades, decor and Company Credits are retained, but all saved scrap is lost, sometimes leading to irrecoverable losses. The game will say this is due to "loss of communication with crew."
- Midnight - The ship will begin launching at 11:46 PM regardless of where the crew is.
All of these can, in theory, trigger the total crew death, as if all members are not on the ship it will still launch. Being "on the ship" is defined quite loosely, however, meaning you can be anywhere on the ship at the time of departure and you will be counted as on it, meaning even if you are standing on a railing you are "on" it. The game doesn't count you as "missing" until the ship doors close, meaning in an emergency, be it due to someone voting or midnight, you can run onto it or fly onto it using a jetpack/tulip snake to survive.
Stock components[]
The Company equips every ship with a standard set of components that is required in order to fulfill the profit quota.
Terminal[]
The Terminal is the most important part of the ship, providing key functionality such as
- Setting the destination moon for the ship to navigate to.
- Purchasing equipment for the crew or ship upgrades and decorations through the Store.
- Providing important information about scanned entities.
- Opening and closing secure doors and temporarily disable turrets and landmines.
Monitors[]
A set of monitors at one end of the ship displays vital information for any crew mate on camera duty. The main monitor shows local maps around any selected crew mate. The monitor on the right shows CCTV footage outside the ship's pressure door. The pair of monitors at the top display the profit quota and the deadline.
Light switch[]
The light switch turns the ship's interior light on and off. Some lights stay on even when the ship lights are turned off, like the cozy lights, the apparatus, the fancy lamp or the glow from the teleporter and inverse teleporter.
Moving the light switch underneath any of these lights makes it easier to find when the ship lights go out, such as when the ship's hit by a lightning strike. The light switch's functionality is duplicated by the remote scrap item.
Main pressure door[]
The main door, located at the back of the ship, has two buttons: one to open the door and one to close it. The door can only remain closed when powered, and it loses power over about 30 seconds. Next to the buttons, a display shows the percentage remaining pressure the door has. Once the percentage reaches 0% the door opens. It takes around 6 seconds to fully refill the door pressure. Above the door switch panel is another CCTV monitor.

When turned on and off it can pull employees in temporarily.
Ship upgrades[]
Employees can buy extra tools for their ship from the Company Store, using the Terminal.
Loud horn[]
The loud horn is a foghorn that can be heard everywhere, including inside the facility. The large blow horn is attached to the front exterior of the ship, and it is activated by a pull cord pole inside. It can guide lost team members back to the ship, communicate signals such as employee deaths or the time of day, and distract outdoor creatures like eyeless dogs by drawing them towards the front of the ship.
It can be purchased from the store for ▮100.
