This page contains known bugs in Lethal Company.

The intention of this page is to cover bugs in the vanilla game, meaning modded content will not be covered. If you find any bugs that are introduced by content altering mods, please contact the devs directly through their preferred way of bug reporting.

Please refrain from posting evidence that contains visible content from content altering mods, even if the mods seem to have no influence on the thing you are trying to provide evidence for (e.g. AdditionalSuits) to minimize confusion.

That said, it is allowed and even encouraged to use debugging tools like Imperium or Unity Explorer for freecam / visualizations in order to prove something.

Employee[]

  • You can teleport non-playing players to the ship using the Radar-booster. While it's on you, switch to its POV using the Terminal, then remove the booster. You would then be on someone's screen called "Player #1", then use the Teleporter to teleport them.[1]
    • This can also happen when loading a new lobby.
  • You are able to die in the ship when landing at the company building, and you can still control your character after death while being stuck in a POV of the ship. The only way to fix the POV is to interact with the terminal. Once the ship takes off, your body will not be recovered even if it's in the ship.[2]
  • Sometimes you will be stuck in a state where you can't interact with anything--including the ability to pick up or drop objects.[3]
  • Falling into a pit will occasionally not kill you instantly.[4]
  • The Employee model appears to have 2 heads in singleplayer, this can be seen in the shadow of the player.[5][6]
  • Sometimes when loading into someone's lobby you can be stuck outside the ship. This is usually because two players are joining the same time, which is more prevalent in modded lobbies with a higher player-count and many people joining at once. [7]
  • Sometimes players are invisible when joining.
  • Sometimes a players name just shows as player.
  • Sometimes, a player will be invisible, and cannot be heard by everyone unless they are near the ship, in which case their voice appears to come from the speaker in the ship.

Entities[]

  • Most Entities can get stuck on the railings in the Mansion Layout.[8]
  • Most Entities can't attack you if you hide on the shelves in the mansion layout.[9]
  • Most Entities don't go to your last known location.
  • When leaving/entering the Facility while taking damage, there's a small possibility that you will die outside/inside the entrance.
  • You can hit most entities through doors.
  • Large entities like Forest Keepers and Old Birds if they're in the right area can grab you though the ship while leaving or landing on eclipsed.

Baboon Hawk[]

  • Baboon Hawks are not intended to be able to enter the ship, however when they are in their aggressive state and having their model shoved around by players or other baboon hawks, they may be forced into the ship, at which point they will steal items from inside the ship and take them back to their nest.[10]
    • Items being taken off the ship after they have been registered as collected causes strange behavior, such as the items sometimes appearing on the exterior of the map the next day.
  • Dead Employees being held by a baboon hawk cannot be teleported using the teleporter until dropped.

Bracken[]

  • Sometimes the Bracken will camp next to the Fire Exit.
  • On the Mansion layout, if you stand on the railings while the Bracken is below you, the Bracken will walk back and forth when in the hunting stage.

Bunker Spider[]

  • When breaking a web while walking into it, you can get stuck in a state where the game thinks you're still in the web.[11]
    • When "edging" the web the same thing can happen.[11]

Butler[]

  • The Butler can get stuck behind a Door if it is aggravated near it.

Circuit Bees[]

  • Bees will fly through the ship while taking off, and can kill you.
  • Bees can hit you through the walls of the ship.[12]
  • When inside the ship, Bees can still aggro on you through the walls.
  • Bees can spawn underwater during Floods.[13]
  • Bees may spawn without a Hive.[14]

Coil-Head[]

  • Jumping will cause the Coil-Head to switch to its roaming phase temporarily.[15]
  • Pipes can obscure a Coil-Head just enough to register as out of sight.[15]
  • While in its roaming phase, a Coil-Head's viewpoint is between its ankles. While in pursuit of a player, its viewpoint moves to its groin.[15]

Earth Leviathan[]

  • Earth Leviathans will continue to make roaring sounds while climbing a ladder.[16]
  • When the ship is leaving after an Earth Leviathan emerged, it may clip through it, killing all employees.

Eyeless Dog[]

  • Eyeless Dogs can both hear and attack you through the back corners of the ship.
  • You can kill an Eyeless Dog by closing the ship door then hitting it with a Shovel, Stop Sign, or Yield Sign through the door.
  • Sometimes when using the Loud Horn and you make a small sound while the horn is still on, the Eyeless Dogs will go to your sound instead of the horn.
  • Using the loud horn too close to the back part of the ship can make dogs get you through the walls

Forest Keeper[]

  • Forest Keepers can start their grab attack just as long as you touch its hitbox, and it is not currently in the process of grabbing another player. This happens even if you are behind it or in front of it.
  • Attacking a Forest Keeper with a Shovel will occasionally not register.

Ghost Girl[]

  • Clipping on top of the Cupboard in the ship makes it impossible to get killed by the Ghost Girl, as her attack hitbox is too short to reach.[17]
  • Looking away the Ghost Girl can still trigger her chasing phase. (This is believed to be caused by other players looking in her direction, even if they cannot see her.)

Hoarding Bug[]

  • Sometimes being 5 units away can cause a Hoarding Bug to aggro, while other times it is required to walk into it.
  • Walking into a Hoarding Bug while you have an item in your inventory can cause it to aggro.
  • Killing a Hoarding Bug while it's holding an item leads to the item not being able to be picked up.

Hygrodere[]

  • Hygroderes do not have a roaming phase, causing it to occasionally camp both the main entrance or fire exits.

Manticoil[]

  • On certain moons such as Assurance, Manticoils will fly into the ground and do it the entire day.

Masked[]

  • Sometimes when teleported the Masked can walk into a corner and get stuck.
  • Right after being teleported, Masked entities can't start their attacking animation.

Mask Hornets[]

  • Mask Hornets can be scanned by the player, but they have no Bestiary entry. (This may not be a bug, as other entities are missing a bestiary entry.)

Nutcracker[]

  • The Nutcracker can still be cheesed as of v50, this can be achieved in several ways.
  • The Nutcracker can get stuck in doorways.
  • Jumping into the Nutcracker does not always trigger its kick attack.
  • Jumping into the Nutcracker at a certain time during its reload animations gets it stuck, and it is completely unable to move until another player enters its sight.

Old Bird[]

  • Rockets shot by Old Birds occasionally don't cause damage.
  • Sometimes walking under an Old Bird while it is active does not trigger its stomp attack.
  • Old Birds can't be scanned while standing behind it.[18]
  • Rockets shot by Old Birds can damage you through the ship.
  • Old birds can stomp the player through the ship

Snare Flea[]

  • The Snare Fleas, "panic phase," does not work. When hit, it acts like it's in its roaming phase, and doesn't attempt to escape the player.

Thumper[]

  • You can hit the Thumper while outside of its vision without it getting aggravated to the player that attacked.
  • The Thumper can get stuck in certain rooms making it unable to move.

Tulip Snake[]

  • Sometimes jumping with a Tulip Snake can give you a jump boost.
  • Using a Jetpack when a Tulip Snake is active, will cancel their ability to make you fly.
  • Climbing a ladder when a Tulip Snake is active, shoots you into the air.
  • Stun Grenades and Zap Guns don't get the Tulip Snake off your head.

Items[]

  • Items sometimes spawn inside the counter in the kitchen on Mansion Layout.
  • Picking up certain items right before using the Teleporter can give you a massive speed boost.
  • Fancy Lamps don't show up as items on the ship.
  • The Weed Killer makes a plastic sound across the whole map, even from outside to the interior.
  • On rare occasion, the Weed Killer's first weak spray will play the beginning of the disco ball song instead of the normal spray noise. This is much more common on modded clients, but can very rarely be heard in the vanilla game.
  • Sometimes finishing quota, restarting and selecting the same save again will give you all your items back that were sold on the day right before, while having all of your credits you got from selling them, effectively duplicating your items.

Map Hazards[]

  • The Turret can see you from very far away, and sometimes when walking a few steps to the side it can kill you, but standing still won't.

Moons[]

  • Some trees on Moons float.[13]
  • There are many unintended shortcuts on Adamance, nullifying the danger.[19]
  • Lightning can hit you through the ship.
  • Sometimes obstacles spawn in the way of entrances, preventing access to the Interior.
  • Sometimes reloading a save changes a moons weather.

Interior[]

  • The book shelves in the Mansion Layout doesn't have a backside leading to sometimes being able to see through them.
  • The fire exit can clip through a book shelf in the mansion layout.
  • Enemies can get stuck if specific types of decoration is placed in front of a vent in the mineshaft layout.[20]

Scanner[]

  • Scanning doesn't scan every item that's in view.
  • When scanning an item, the scanned item sometimes moves across the screen.
  • Scanning circuit bees when on their hive is off centered.[21]
  • Scanning the Hive is off centered.
  • Sometimes while scanning outside, it will show a main entrance indicator where there is no entrance.
  • Sometimes the scanner, scans items that are not in view. This is also shown here.[3]

The Ship[]

  • Sometimes items don't count when going into the ship.
  • Sometimes when reloading a save file, any previous items in the ship don't count towards the ship total.
  • Sometimes when landing items will be teleported to the landing spot.
  • Sometimes when landing items will be teleported under the ship.
  • Sometimes pressing [E] on the ladder to the ships roof from the roof doesn't put you on to it.
  • At a back part of the ship interior, it counts as being outside the ship.
  • The Terminal and light switch show as being Storable when this isn't true.
  • When you replace the bed it clips through the ground. [22]
  • There is a bug where the company cruiser can be seen and hit inside the ship on the left wall (the cruiser attaches on the right). This bug doesn't show up for the host, and it fixes itself once the cruiser is taken off the magnet.[23]
  • When honking stopping and honking immediately after eachother the honk sound will keep playing on the specific frame of the sound when you stopped
  • If items are placed on top of the company cruiser, you use the jump and the magnet is on it can fly from the entrance to the magnet.[24]
  • The welcome mat is displayed as 40 when it costs 50.[25]
