Lethal Company Wiki

Extension ladder is an item in Lethal Company.

The extension ladder is a small box that when placed on the ground (Using LMB), will then extend a ladder upwards. Once the ladder has reached its maximum height or hits a ceiling, it will fall forward and stop whenever it collides with a wall, the ground, or object. It can be very helpful for crossing certain gaps that are impossible to jump, or climbing up walls.

Controls[]

  • [LMB] - Drops the ladder on the ground, which then starts the extension process.

Notes[]

  • Keep in mind you have to drop the ladder using [LMB] in order to open it. Simply pressing [G] will only drop the item without use.
  • If a player is standing below the ladder as it falls on them, it will kill the player. If you're really feeling it, you can use this to kill unsuspecting friends!
  • Cannot be used to kill players inside the ship as the ladder will always hit the roof of the ship.
  • Will not fall below a horizontal state.
  • Automatically collapses after a short duration, indicated by some beeping.
  • Can be used to easily cross the catwalk jump.
    • Be mindful of any Hoarding Bugs if they are nearby, as they can easily grab the extension ladder, causing anyone still on the ladder to fall to their death.
  • Can be used to detonate landmines safely.
  • In Version 45, there was an exploit which allowed you to fly using the extension ladder by following these steps: 1 - Empty your inventory of everything besides the ladder. 2 - Place ladder in the cupboard before moving the cupboard to a different location. 3 - Retrieve ladder and switch to a different inventory slot. Doing these steps will allow you to fly. If you hold the ladder again or drop it, you will stop flying.
  • If the ladder is placed in front of a Turret, it blocks any shots from actually hitting, even though the turret appears as though it can shoot through the ladder. This is possibly due to ladder counting as solid plane, even though shots should logically be able to pass through the gaps between rungs. This behavior is believed to be unintentional.
