5-Embrion is a moon in Lethal Company. Due to this moon being condemned, information about it is kept in secret from company employees. It is not listed in the exomoons catalogue on the Terminal; instead, its location must be deciphered through the Bestiary Log of the Old Bird. If employees want to plot a route to this moon, it will cost ▮150. It is not recommended to visit Embrion due to the low-reward, high-risk this moon provides.
There is only one fire exit on 5-Embrion, located to the northeast of the ship and the immediate east of the main entrance. Concealed inside a ring of rocks, it can be difficult to locate for those unaware.

Moon Info[]
5-Embrion
-----------------------------
POPULATION: Abandoned
CONDITIONS: Desolate and flat with unbreathable air, Embrion's surface layer is almost entirely made of amethyst quartz, which is made possible by Embrion's distance to its nearest star and its resulting geothermal activity. The surface of Embrion is scorchingly hot.
HISTORY: Embrion was discovered in just the last century. It appears to have been used as a testing ground for Old Birds long before it was officially discovered. As a result of this danger, its status has been marked as Condemned. There are theories that a diverse geothermal ecosystem may be thriving within a vast cave network under Embrion's surface.
FAUNA: Embrion is devoid of biological life.
Environment[]

Diagram showing the fire exit's location relative to the main entrance.
5-Embrion is a desolate, abandoned moon with enormous rocks littering its surface, many of which reach high into the sky. Aside from these rocks, though, the landscape is barren and empty. The moon's surface is pure amethyst, giving your footsteps a crunchy sound as you walk. The lack of other life, vegetation, or sound present outside gives the moon an eerie atmosphere.
While this moon is easy to traverse due to its relatively small outdoor space and flat terrain, it poses a significant hazard to employees with the outdoor power cap being 70. This is to support the copious number of Old Birds that spawn when the day begins.
Weather[]
Embrion only supports 2 types of weather: Foggy and Eclipsed.
Foggy[]
Due to its distinct lack of any noticeable landmarks, it can be very easy to get lost on Embrion while it is foggy. Luckily, the main entrance can be reached fairly easily by proceeding from the entrance of the ship in a straight line, as the ship directly faces the main entrance.
- It's also worth noting that foggy weather conditions can make it more difficult to keep track of and avoid Old Birds.
Eclipsed[]
Landing on Embrion while it is eclipsed causes some of the dormant Old Birds on the moon to activate upon landing. More and more Old Birds will activate as the day progresses. The amount of active Old Birds, paired with the long distance between the ship and the entrances to the facility, can make gathering scrap (or exiting the ship in general) incredibly tedious and dangerous.[1]

Outdoors[]
The outdoor power level of 70 on 5-Embrion is astronomically higher than any other moon to date, with 20-Adamance's 13 being the closest. This will lead to a very populated outdoor presence of entities, and thus, a chaotic work environment for employees.
Due to their spawn chance, it is very likely that Old Birds will take up a majority of the outdoor power.
Entity | Base Spawn Chance | Power Level | Max Spawned | Stunnable | Killable |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Old Bird | 86.96% | 3 | 30 | Yes | No |

Daytime[]
Embrion does not support any daytime entities.

Strategy[]
Avoid pulling the apparatus until all other scrap has been transferred, as pulling the apparatus activates all old birds on the moon.
The total value of the scrap typically doesn't justify the cost and danger of going to this moon. It still can easily generate around 300-400 credits worth of scrap a day with an experienced crew.
Due to the number of Old Birds that can spawn, it can very quickly become impossible to safely traverse the exterior, especially on eclipsed days. It is highly recommended to bring Jetpacks to avoid most of the Old Birds and bring as much scrap as quickly as possible. The inverse teleporter may also save some time on multiplayer runs, as it potentially allows the first trip to be done much faster. TZP-Inhalant is also helpful for bringing back two-handed items. The moon's interior is not that large, and due to the low interior power, the biggest thing you have to worry about are the spike traps, as most of the monsters you will run into inside are Hoarding Bugs. Do be wary of the other monsters that can spawn, so make sure to have a shovel or other weapons just in case.
Company Cruiser helps here a lot, because Old Birds almost fully ignore you while you're in the cruiser which means you can freely drive around the moon and transfer scrap. But be aware, Old Birds can still see you while flying if you're in the cruiser which means they can land on your cruiser, so either don't stay in one place for long time or don't stay outdoors for too long.
In a pinch, you can use Stun Grenades to stun any nearby Old Birds for a few seconds or close the ship's doors if you are inside the ship, but that is about all you can do when they begin their onslaught of missiles. If someone dies, don't even attempt to bring back their dead body; just use the teleporter.
Overall strategy: Just go to Assurance. It has very similar loot value and count, without nearly as much danger, nor the ridiculous power levels, and especially not the price tag.
Notes[]
- The Bestiary log for the Old Bird notes that this moon was a speculated testing ground for the entity, which would explain the almost guaranteed chance of them spawning.
- 5-Embrion is the cheapest "Hard" moon that employees need to pay for, but requires the prerequisite of discovering an Old Bird and reading its log to acquire the moon's name.
- The many rocks that spawn around 5-Embrion can be used as cover to avoid detection by the Old Birds, although employees must also beware of potential Earth Leviathans that can spawn.
- Mineshaft interior always spawns 21 items despite it being able to spawn 20-22 items.
Trivia[]
- The word "embrion", originally a French and Spanish word translating to embryo, refers to an animal in the early stages of growth and differentiation in an egg or womb[2]. This could be a reference to the moon being a testing ground for the Old Birds, or perhaps the Old Birds themselves.
